Vladimir Logutov is one of the best examples of the new and progressive generation of Russian contemporary artists.
“At the core of Vladimir Logutov’s work lies a simple game: transforming reality with the help of reality”, said the curator Antonio Gueusa. Vladimir Logutov is primilarly known for his videowork which he considers as the best medium to interact with the reality. In his videos, he combines film and computer manipulations to highlight the concepts of “accidental” and “spontaneity” in everyday scenes. His work focuses on the analysis of the video as a visual media and uses a meditative process taken from the painting experience. Indeed, Vladimir Logutov is adding to his videowork some abstract paintings and drawings, that he even feel closer, since he was educated as an art teacher and has always drawn or painted since his childhood.
