Why go
The Dadiani palace gives Zugdidi a centre of gravity. The family's former residence is now a museum, and its collections bring together objects from Samegrelo, works of art and the family's European connections. The ornate building deserves attention, but the reason to enter is the story behind it.
Allow enough time for the exhibits rather than photographing only the façade. The neighbouring botanical garden is a separate, open-air experience; you can enjoy one without assuming both share the same ticket or opening arrangements.
