Why go
Prometheus Cave, near Kumistavi in Tskaltubo municipality, is a managed visitor route through a series of large chambers and formations. The protected-areas agency describes the walking tour as roughly an hour inside the cave.
Treat this as its own excursion from Kutaisi. A boat segment may be offered separately, but it depends on water conditions and should not be assumed to be part of every visit. The cave's lighting and guided format make it a different experience from an open-air walk.
Before you go
Check current tickets, tour availability and transfer options with the protected-areas agency. The optional boat service can be suspended when water rises.
