Why go
The Agency of Protected Areas describes Black Rock Lake as a three-day route from its Lagodekhi administration, climbing through forest toward alpine terrain and overnight shelters. The landscape changes dramatically with elevation, which is why this is a journey in its own right rather than another day walk.
The lake lies by the international border, and visitors must complete the required registration with identification. Steep paths, exposure, weather and overnight logistics make this suitable for prepared hikers only; agree the route, current access and support with the administration before departure.

Contact the protected-areas visitor service for current trail opening, border registration, required ID, shelter or camping arrangements and guide advice. Carry suitable mountain equipment and do not enter unapproved border areas.
