Why visit
The modern Bolnisi Museum brings together finds from Kvemo Kartli, from prehistoric objects to medieval material. Its displays on Georgian script make a useful companion to a visit to Bolnisi Sioni.
What to expect
Give the galleries their own hour before heading into the countryside. Exhibitions can change, so ask what is on view rather than planning around one object.
