Why go
The protected-areas agency describes Likani Valley as a seven-kilometre route taking about four hours. It begins at the Likani ranger station, away from Borjomi's Central Park, and climbs through the Chitakhevi ridge landscape for views across the gorge.
This is the step up from a shaded town walk: you need time for the trail, a way to reach its starting point and a route check before you go. The agency requires registration at its Borjomi visitor centre before entering the national park; the ranger station is not a substitute for that check-in.
