The small old town spreads around the foot of Gori Fortress, with restored houses along Akaki Tsereteli Avenue and neighbouring lanes. It rewards looking closely at doors, balconies and street life.
This is a public-street walk with its own pace, rather than another visit inside the fortress or museums. Respect homes and use marked crossings.
