Why go
Gudauri's slopes are the reason many visitors stay here rather than only passing through the mountain road. The ski area has marked runs for different abilities, so a satisfying day can be built around a few suitable pistes instead of trying to cover the whole resort.
Take time to read the current piste map and conditions before setting off. If you are new to skiing or snowboarding, arrange a qualified lesson; if the weather closes in, accept a shorter day. The unmarked backcountry is a different undertaking with avalanche risk, not an extension of this suggestion.

Check the operator's live lift and piste status, weather, ticket rules and current map. Stay on open marked runs suitable for your ability; arrange instruction if needed and do not treat off-piste terrain as part of this visit.
