Why go
The protected areas near Kobuleti conserve a rare coastal wetland rather than another stretch of beach. The agency lists short visitor trails around the Ispani peatland, where the attraction is the ecosystem itself: sphagnum, open sky and the possibility of birds moving through the habitat.
Choose a currently open route through the visitor centre and stay on the marked path. This is sensitive ground, not a place to improvise an off-trail walk or expect a particular bird sighting. Conditions and access may change after weather or conservation work.
