Why go
Kobuleti gives the coast a different pace from Batumi. The beach and pine-backed stretches invite an unhurried day by the water, while the nearby protected wetlands make room for a guided or marked nature visit. Petra Fortress at Tsikhisdziri is a third, separate outing that adds coastal history. Stay here if the sea is the centre of the trip and you are happy to arrange transport for the other two places.
When to go
Summer is the main beach season; late spring and early autumn can suit walks and quieter days, but weather and sea conditions vary. Confirm wetland trail access shortly before visiting rather than relying on a year-round promise.
Getting there
Reach Kobuleti by rail or road from elsewhere in Georgia. Batumi Airport is the flight-search gateway, not an airport in Kobuleti; check current onward services and the exact location of your accommodation before booking.
The trade-off
Kobuleti is less of an urban base than Batumi. Peak-season beach strips can still be busy, and the wetland and fortress each need their own access check and transfer.
