Why go
Batumi is most rewarding when you treat it as a city beside the sea, not only a place to lie on the beach. Walk the older streets for a sense of its port-city layers, then give the boulevard its own stretch of time along the shore. On another day, leave the centre for the Botanical Garden above Green Cape. Those are different moods rather than stops on a single route, and a two- or three-day stay gives you room to choose with the weather.
When to go
Late spring and early autumn are useful for walking and garden time without building the whole visit around the busiest beach weeks. Summer is the main seaside season, but check the forecast rather than counting on a sunny day.
Getting there
Batumi has its own airport and is also reached by rail and road from other Georgian cities. Check current flight, train and onward-transfer options for your dates; the Botanical Garden needs a separate journey from the centre.
The trade-off
The seafront can feel busy in peak season, and coastal weather may interrupt a beach-first plan. The Botanical Garden is outside the centre, not a quick detour on an old-town stroll.
