Why visit
Martvili Canyon Natural Monument has a managed visitor route from its centre in Inchkhuri, with bridges and viewing platforms above the Abasha River. The short marked path is the core visit; a separate boat trip may be offered when conditions allow.
What to expect
Come for the rock, water and shaded gorge rather than assuming a boat seat. The protected-areas agency can suspend boating in rain or snow, and the visitor route itself has access rules. Follow the marked path and staff instructions throughout.
Know what the core ticket covers
Plan first for the managed walking route and viewpoints. Treat boating as a conditional extra whose operation depends on water and weather, not as the only reason to travel. Confirm the options directly with the protected-areas agency before setting out rather than relying on an older tour description.
Keep the canyon separate from town
The visitor centre is at Inchkhuri, outside central Martvili. Martvili Monastery and the Salkhino residence are different outings again, so a short visit requires choices. If the canyon is your priority, arrange both legs of the transfer and preserve enough time for queues and changing conditions.
