Why go
The Green Bazaar is one of Kutaisi's most direct introductions to the region. Stalls bring together fruit, vegetables, dairy, churchkhela and other everyday provisions; the decorated entrance is only the beginning of the visit.
Go to browse rather than expecting a formal tasting. The mix of vendors and produce changes, and it is worth leaving time to look around before deciding what to take away. Afterwards, the river and older streets are close enough to make the market part of a day in town rather than a detour.
