Why go
Tbilisi deserves more than one old-town stroll. The sulfur baths and lanes of Abanotubani make a memorable start, while Sololaki's residential architecture, Dry Bridge's market and a wine-history stop show other sides of the city. Mtatsminda gives you a view of it all from above. Choose a few things that interest you and leave time between them for the city itself.
When to go
Spring and early autumn are comfortable for long walks. The sulfur baths are an all-season ritual; check individual bathhouse hours before going.
Getting there
Arrive via Tbilisi Airport or by road or rail, and check current transfer options before travelling. The older districts reward walking, but Sololaki's climbs and the distance to Dry Bridge deserve time between stops.
The trade-off
The older districts have steep, uneven streets, and the visitor core can be busy. A quieter or step-free stay may call for a different base within the city.
